Take a moment to imagine a future where you pull up at a fuel station. You have a choice:
- Clean burning, sulfur free diesel?
- The regular old smelly polluting stuff?....
In South Africa this is already a reality!
Alternative Fuels Corporation, a G4G Resources Company (TSX-V: GXG), is dedicated to converting natural gas, biomass and ultimately coal to cleaner and greener and more reliable synthetic gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
We are a Canadian firm with the technology to convert natural gas and coal to cleaner and greener and more reliable synthetic gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. .
Our process is cheaper, cleaner and greener than the original process, however coal and gas are not our only inputs. Gas and coal represent a starting place, but our long term goal is to use 100% waste and renewable biomass as our input.
Our mission is to create cleaner non-polluting alternatives to the world’s rapidly dwindling supply of cheap oil and to help in the transition from oil to new clean transportation fuel sources. (For more details on this reality, visit our resources page.)
Because stranded natural gas and coal are plentiful and cheap, our initial focus will be on joint venture partnerships with owners of stranded natural gas and coal, while searching for areas whereby biomass, including municipal sewerage and municipal waste are our primary inputs.
In the 1950’s South Africa’s economy was threatened. The country’s economy was the strongest in Africa, but it had no access to oil and the threat of oil embargoes was very real as a result of world antagonism to the government of the time.
Without oil they economy would grind to a halt. The government knew it could not survive, let alone prosper without it.
The Challenge: How to keep a vibrant economy going without oil?
South Africa had ample supplies of coal but could this be used?
To find out, the South Africans researched and refined an old process used by the German war machine to ensure they had all the oil they needed for the war effort.
It worked in the 1930’s, but could it be made to work now?
Over time the South Africans improved the process until it became economically viable and today South Africa is almost self sufficient for diesel fuel using this process.
The diesel made from this process contains no sulfur, no particulates or aromatics and compared diesel from oil, it is clean burning.
The company that developed the process is one of South Africa’s largest employers, their share price has increased 100 times since going public in 1970 and is South Africa’s largest tax payer.
